Meghan Garvin

LMSW

Elizabeth Forbes, LGPC

Meghan Garvin

I have been practicing in the field for over 5 years and have experience working with individuals
who have faced trauma, hardship, crisis, abuse or neglect. I have specialized training in an
approach called Sensory Motor Arousal Regulation Treatment (SMART) which focuses on using
non-verbal skills, movement, and sensory tools in an effort to increase emotional regulation,
increase one's window of tolerance, and begin to process and rework traumatic experiences. I
incorporate many different approaches into my practice such as cognitive behavioral therapy,
play therapy, talk therapy, and other expressive modalities.

Outside of trauma treatment I am very active and love to spend time hiking and immersed in
nature. I can usually be found in the mountains or by a body of water with my pups talking about plants. My passion for plants has expanded within the last few years and I was able to
incorporate both my love of hiking and all things plants into my last practice. I ran horticultural
therapy groups as well as hiking groups that were able to serve multiple age ranges. I work with all ages, having had clients from age 3 to 74, my favorite population to work with is school-age youth and adolescence. I have experience conducting in-home family therapy and I really enjoy this approach as well, appreciating the different vantage point that this approach brings working with the entire family unit in their own personal space. I have experience working with the LGBTQIA+ population, individuals with ASD diagnosis, and many other diagnoses such as C-PTSD, Generalized anxiety, depression, ADHD, and reactive attachment disorder.

Kiya Harrison

In the words of Mr. Robert Van Winkle, “if there’s a problem, yo, I’ll solve it.”

Meet Kiya (She/her/they/them), Admin-Extraordinaire, Jack of all trades, master of some. Kiya has joined the TSMD team to support the needs of the clinicians that support YOU! Driven by the belief that sometimes the wounds you can’t see are the most painful, she champions community care, wellness, and healing.

Kiya comes from a background of childrearing and has three children; thus, her hands, heart, and coffee mug are always full.

But never too full to add light to someone’s day.

Very Respectfully,

Nakiya Harrison

Rachel Harrison

LCPC, NCC

Founder & Clinical Director

I talk to people everyday who are facing difficult challenges in life, both past and present. If this is you, I would welcome the opportunity to meet with you and work together to create a plan for therapy that will lead to feeling better and to the resolution of your past difficulties. I offer individual and family therapy to address issues such as anxiety, depression, trauma, and relational issues. I specialize in EMDR Therapy, the integration of spirituality and psychology, and those touched by the circle of adoption. In addition, I am a Neurofeedback practitioner.

Treating trauma is my specialty both for children and adults. I often use EMDR therapy, which I have found to work very well for many clients and it is a research based therapy. Currently, I am an approved consultant and trainer in EMDR Therapy. I also offer Alpha-Stim treatment.

I specialize in working with those who have been touched by the circle of adoption, including individuals who have been adopted, adoptive families, and birth families. Each of these groups require specific knowledge and treatment to obtain effective results. In addition, I periodically offer groups for adoptive moms.
