Trauma Specialists provides a variety of specialized trainings for our community partners designed to increase awareness and competence in trauma informed practices.

 

Community Development Services include:

Katie Honeywell LPCMH, NCC

Katie has worked as a licensed counselor for over 13 years. She is an EMDRIA certified therapist, clinical supervisor, a consultant-in-training for EMDR and is a site supervisor for Lewes and Milton locations. She enjoys working with individuals of all ages, specializing in trauma. She supports parents and families in finding more connected relationships. Katie has a special interest in complex trauma, attachment, dissociation, and perinatal trauma. She values LGBTQIA affirming care. She incorporates a strength based lens, partnership, creativity and humor into her work. 

Katie is the Business Development Director for Trauma Specialists and our sister company, Trauma Specialists Training Institute. She is passionate about connecting with people in the community, supporting other businesses that align with our values and creation of services and businesses that promote healing. Katie is a strong believer in Trauma Informed workplaces and supporting growth.

Christine Wolf, LCPC, E-RYT, is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor and Experienced Registered Yoga Teacher. Christine provides treatment for children (including birth to five) and adults. Christine is trained in EMDR and utilizes attachment theory as a foundation for trauma-focused interventions including strengths-based and psychodynamic approaches, parts work, and play-based therapy. Christine also offers Alpha-Stim treatment and incorporates trauma informed yoga and mindfulness to support nervous system regulation. Specialties include PTSD and complex trauma, depression, anxiety, adoption/foster care, parent-child work, and grief.

As the Community Development Specialist, Christine also provides training to community agencies and provides EMDR treatment interventions for large groups including Acute Stress Syndrome Stabilization (ASSYST), EMDR Therapy for Early Intervention and Ongoing Traumatic Stress Protocol (IGTP-OTS), Group Traumatic Episode Protocol (G-TEP), and Childrens Group Traumatic Episode Protocol (C-GTEP.

Whitney Dahlberg, LCPAT

Whitney is a Licensed Clinical Professional Art Therapist. As an art therapist, she is trained in traditional counseling techniques with a specialization in art modalities.Through art making and dialogue, she pays special attention to the experiences of our mind-body connection utilizing a holistic, process-oriented perspective and works from an individualized, strengths-based, trauma-informed lens. She seeks to provide a visual channel through meaning-making to safely express and navigate obstacles to healing. Engaging in the process of art itself can improve self-esteem, increase emotional self-efficacy, and facilitate an individual sense of identity.

Whitney is an LGBTQIA+ affirming therapist who creates an environment of safety, trust, and respect for her clients. She specializes in working with teens and adults experiencing grief, depression, anxiety, medical diagnosis, and trauma. She is passionate about art as a tool for communication and the healing power of the creative process. Whitney is an EMDR trained and pursuing EMDR certification.

Maris Allen, LMSW

Maris Allen is a Licensed Master’s Social Worker in Delaware and Maryland, providing in-office and telehealth clinical therapy. She has been a full-time therapist since fall of 2023. She holds certifications in Trauma-Informed Care, Child Advocacy Studies, and is trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR).

She has worked previously in three different schools, where she provided therapeutic behavioral support in special education placements. She worked with elementary-aged students through 4th grade, helping children with significant social, emotional, and behavioral challenges. Her responsibilities included delivering evidence-based social skills instruction, providing therapeutic services, facilitating weekly school-to-home communication, addressing students’ academic deficits, and offering crisis intervention.

She enjoys working with children, teenagers, and young adults, and her clinical focus areas include OCD, anxiety, depression, trauma, social challenges, life transitions, holistic health, DBT skills, abuse, stress management, goal setting, and fostering healthy habits.

Maris takes a creative and holistic approach to therapy by incorporating art therapy, play therapy/sand tray, ecotherapy (in collaboration with Roots Youth Development), yoga (30-hour kids yoga training), mindfulness, meditation, breathwork, grounding exercises, and self-care practices. Maris loves to collaborate with the community! 

She is an authentic and approachable therapist who is passionate about helping individuals reconnect with themselves, embrace the simplicity of life, achieve personal growth, and remember that they are whole, no matter what phase they are in. She is dedicated to encouraging clients to create a balanced and fulfilling life.

Laura Spivak

Laura is thrilled to be working as the Grants Coordinator for Trauma Specialists, helping fund projects that bring increased trauma care to the community and improve life for people of all ages and backgrounds. Laura is an author and a mom, as well as an avid crafter and party decorator. When not buried in her laptop writing, she is doing activities with her kids, spending time with friends and family, or working on some elaborate crafting project. Above all, Laura just wants to help people and make the world a little easier to navigate, and is honored to be part of a company that shares those values and goals.
